Truth is the essence of naïveté,
The child among the pedophiles
The innocent spouse in adultery,
A fool who denies friends' wicked smiles.
Red Riding Hood with the malicious wolf
Not knowing that her Fate has been decreed
That she die horribly from Satan's hoof,
Forgetting the motive to kill is greed.
'Tis an emotion doomed now
And forever; Was never meant to be
Thus choose to wipe the sweat from your brow
And just suspect whomever you will see
Today's society wakes from rest
The notion that who laughs last will laugh best.
It's amazing what wandering through old CD archives will yield: this "sonnet" was an old high school assignment, written sometime between 1995-1997.

I think my English has gotten worse over the years. Granted, it wasn't much to begin with, but still...Curse you, Science, with your "not uncommons" and "not dissimilars"! *shakes fist*
